Outfit Ideas | Floral Romper

Like this dress, this floral romper at Old Navy was love at first sight. Old Navy is just seriously killing it with their fall prints!

In addition to being obsessed with this print, I also love that this romper has long sleeves. It really is such a perfect summer to fall transition piece–it can be worn now with sandals, like here, but I also can’t wait to pair it with tights and booties this fall/winter.

I think I’d wear it every day if I could!

Outfit Ideas | Basics Favorites

Today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite basics that round out my wardrobe. Though it may not be the most exciting outfit in the world, there’s always something refreshing about jeans paired with a white t-shirt, especially it they fit well and are super comfortable.

Let’s start with the white t-shirt. I purchase white t-shirts all the time because they stain so easily, but I could never find one that I absolutely loved–they were either too low cut, too high cut, too see through, or just didn’t fit well. I’d heard that lots of people had loved the Everlane tees, but it still took me a good year or so till I finally ordered one to try myself. And it actually lived up to the hype–the v-neck is the perfect length, it’s not too tight or too loose, and it’s not too sheer. Plus, I’ve spilled things on it several times and they’ve all come out easily in the wash. It is maybe just a little long on my torso, but other than that, it really is the perfect white t-shirt.

Next up are these Paige verdugo jeans. I found them on the sale rack at Anthropologie for $90, marked down from $179. Like Everlane, I’d heard people rave about Paige jeans before but even at almost half off, the price tag was a little hard to swallow. When I tried them on, however, they were seriously the most amazing jeans I’d ever worn–super soft, fitted but not too tight, and definitely looked great from the back. I’ve worn them as often as I can since then, and they never seem to stretch out or lose their shape. I guess there is something to be said for designer jeans!

Lastly, my J. Crew suede flats. I practically live in comfy flats during the school year and had been searching for a pink-ish pair to add a pop of color to my wardrobe. So when I found these on sale on the J.Crew website, I knew they’d be perfect. I often have a hard time even wearing flats for long periods of time, but these are super fitted and supportive–I cannot stop wearing them!

So those are three of my favorite basics items–any others out there?

Outfit Ideas | Palm Romper

Outfit creation has become one of my favorite parts of my week, so I’ve decided to try out blogging two outfit posts per week–we’ll see how it goes!

Outfit Ideas | Palm Romper

This romper has been on constant repeat after purchasing it at the beginning of the summer. I’m obsessed with the print (Lilly Pulitzer much?) and the fit is super flattering.

Jeff calls it my jungle camouflage dress and on the trail where we took these photos, it does kinda seem like I could just blend into the background–but totally not the case when I wear this in public!

Since the romper is so busy, I kept the rest of the outfit simple: my go-to rose gold sandals + gold Gorjana disc necklace + a few bracelets. I could seriously wear this everyday!

Romper: Old Navy (Dress in same print–may be able to find it on sale in stores)

Sandals: Clarks Shoes

Outfit Ideas | Floral Swing Dress

I usually wait until things go on super sale, or at least till I have major coupons, when I buy things at Old Navy, but this dress was just irresistible–I mean, that print! And then combined with the swing dress shape? Totally in love.

did purchase these sandals recently on super sale ($8!) at Target and love the look of them, though they definitely are not made for walking long distances. I’d been spotting them online for the past few months as they were dead-on Joie lookalikes, but still didn’t want to pay full price for them. If you can find them at your Target stores, all clearance shoes are an additional 25% off this week with the cartwheel app!

One of the other things I love about this look is the mix of high\low items. Actually, all  of the clothing items–dress, sandals, hat–were steal items, but when you add the Kate Spade purse, it just elevates the entire look. And, I actually snagged this Kate Spade off of Thred Up for $70 and then with credits, it was almost free…definitely some grad student shopping!
