So that whole gym thing. It sounded so good, but I have definitely not been this sore in a looong time. I think I may even be more sore than after my 20 miler training run! Well, maybe not, but at least the pain is lasting longer, it seems. No wedges or heels for me again for awhile!
I’m trying to stick to it, though, because I know that the pain is only temporary and soon, I’ll be able to work out like this daily again. In the mean time, I can reminisce on the time I wore heels this past weekend for a casual evening out with the husband.
I know (or hope, maybe!) I’ll be able to where them again soon!

I hope you had a wonderful week–now onto the weekend! We’re heading up to Charlottesville to celebrate Jeff’s birthday tomorrow morning with friends and family.
In the meantime, here’s a round-up of some of my recent purchases (in love with all of it!) and some items I’m currently coveting.

Happy Valentine’s Day Eve and snowy, snowy day if you’re here with us in Virginia! It does certainly helps get in the winter Olympic spirit!
I’m not sure if we’ll be going anywhere for Valentine’s Day or if we’ll stay snowed in in our cozy home, but either way, things will be pretty casual, which is why this outfit is perfect.
White lace, pink and red floral, red Kate Spade, and a floral headband–I think that calls for some V-Day chocolate!

What a week! I feel like I’ve been running around like crazy, barely able to stop for a breath. It has me dreaming back to this past Saturday when I wore this outfit downtown for date night dinner and a movie.
It was so much warmer than it has been recently too, so I was able to get away with exposed ankles and my spring-y jean jacket, plus a lightweight scarf for good measure on the walk home after the show.
Here’s to a quick rest of the week!

I took these photos on Saturday, in the midst of yet another small snow shower and then yesterday, we got our first real storm of the season, so these photos are definitely fitting today!
It’s been so cold and windy here lately that all of my outfits have just gravitated towards warm and comfy. We were heading to go rock climbing (I took off the boots, don’t worry!), so I also needed something that could transition well into movement and then later, out to dinner if we decided to go.
The sweater is from Coldwater Creek–where else? Their clothes tend to run on the larger side, so I normally stick to the XS section. However, the smallest size they had in this sweater was a medium, but I took a chance and tried it on and surprisingly, loved the baggy fit of it. It’s perfect for leggings!

This is an outfit I created in clothing app many moons ago that I never got around to wearing. I loved it when I put it together, but just couldn’t find exactly the right activity to wear it to–it’s a little too casual for work, but a little formal for most of my weekend activities.
However, Jeff and I went out to lunch on Saturday since I had a 3-day weekend and all, and I figured it would be my excuse to finally put it all together. I’m a bit obsessed about how my new skinny jeans work so well with my riding boots–no more jean bunching at the knee or need for stirrups!
My favorite part of this outfit? My new Kate Spade red cross body bag my mother generously gifted me for Christmas. Isn’t it adorable? The red isn’t quite red red, but isn’t really very orangey either. It’s just, well, kinda perfect. Plus, it’s the perfect size for weekend adventures (shopping? lunch? No problem ;) ).
Can’t all weekends be 3-day weekends?
