Happy Monday, friends!
How was your weekend? We stayed local for the most of the weekend again since it was cool and rainy most of the time. On Sunday, I did get out for a glorious long walk in the woods behind our house – the walkability of this country is by far my favorite part!
Our rainy weekend got me thinking about all of the fun DIY projects I used to do back when I started this blog but have totally let slide lately. I’m really wanting to start sharing more again, but living in a different country in a small apartment makes that a little difficult – but I’m going to try! To get things started again, I wanted to share my favorite past DIY projects that are perfect for a rainy day.
DIY Wood Chalkboard Sign. Chalkboard paint has amazing transformative properties for most DIY projects and this simple DIY is no exception. I got the inspiration for this wandering the aisles of Michaels and spotting the cutest little wood cuttings. I purchased a few – one for this project and a few more to use as bases for my cloches at Christmas.
DIY Hanging Bottle Opener. I made this cute bottle opener for Jeff for our anniversary one year after seeing similar ones in a cute boutique in downtown Davis, CA. I love how it turned out – it would also make a great Christmas present!
DIY Coaster Art. This was one of those random little projects that I had no idea how it would turn out that I ended up loving and hanging on the wall in our office for all the years we were in Virginia. Again, no fancy tools needed here – just cute coasters and a glue gun.
DIY Mercury Glass Lamp. Technically, you may want to do this project outside or at least in a garage but I had to include it. To date, it’s been by far my most popular DIY and has been repinned thousands of times on Pinterest. It’s much easier than it looks too and turned out so cute!
DIY Earring and Jewelry Holder. I don’t know about you, but if I can’t see my jewelry, I won’t wear it. So, I made this cute jewelry holder out of an old frame, some mesh, and a few nails – a perfect way to spice up your displays!
DIY Bracelet Holder. This project is so simple that I’m not sure it really can be a DIY – it will literally just take a stop at the store and then a little creative stacking!
What DIY projects have you been inspired by lately?
