Happy Monday, friends!
How was your weekend? We rented a car for the first time on Saturday for a trip down to the charming little town of Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds – it was quite an adventure to say the least! I’ll do a full trip review here tomorrow, but let’s just say that driving a manual rented car on the left side of the road is no easy feat, or at least that’s what it looked like from the passenger seat! We felt pretty proficient at it by the end of the day, however, and we’re going to rent one again to head to the Lake District for my birthday at the beginning of next month which should be fun and let us get more practice driving.
We took these photos down a cute little side alley in Chipping Campden. This houndstooth cape (purchased a few years ago from Talbot’s – I rounded up some other great options at the end of the post, as always!) almost didn’t make it into my suitcase in August but after some last minute space saver bags, I managed to get it in and I’m so glad I did!
I love how the houndstooth and unique shape of the cape make such a statement that there’s really no need for anything too elaborate for the rest of the look. I paired it with my fav faux leather leggings (love these) and go-to black booties, along with a simple sweater underneath.
It feels pretty much like a blanket on because of the cozy shape and still manages to provide enough warmth in this England chill. Make sure you choose a crossbody purse or the like as a shoulder bag won’t work with your arms constricted a bit, unless you want to carry it at your side all day.
