Yesterday, I had to travel to the neighboring town of Royal Leamington Spa to pick up my BRP (a card with identifying information I need when I travel) and then meet up with Jeff and some of his fellow labmates for a going away party.
I decided to leave early in the afternoon to give myself plenty of time to explore. The town itself had lot a great mix of local and more corporate shops, so I spent some time just wandering through the streets and window shopping.
As the name implies, the town grew around a spa or pump room, which was touted for its medicinal and healing properties. They had a great little museum explaining the history of the royal pump room and town, as well as a small art exhibit.
I spent a lot of the afternoon wandering around the Jephson Gardens, which reminded me a lot of Kensington Gardens in London, though on a much smaller scale.
It was such a picturesque little British town that I hope to see more of in the future!
