We’ve actually had a super mild winter in SW Virginia so far this year (hallelujah!), so my winter layering game hasn’t had to be as strong as usual. However, on the night that I put together this outfit, the temperature dropped to 18, which is far beyond my comfort threshold.
My body temperature never seems to adjust well to external temperatures–if it’s hot, I’m hot and if it’s cold, I’m cold–so light layering is a must for me or I get too hot when I transfer into the heated indoors from outside. For this chilly night, I layered a light button shirt (how cute is this?) with this turtleneck, another Who What Wear Target piece I’d snagged during their winter clearance, then topped it with my favorite peacoat (currently on sale but in limited sizes).
I also wore a pair of J Brand leather pants I’d scored through ThredUp. They were somehow priced at $40, even though they went for over $1000 retail and are in perfect condition. Sometimes my endless hours of online shopping pay off! Seriously though, if you haven’t explored ThredUp yet, you really need too–there are so many great items added daily and you can shop by brand, price, and condition, especially if you’re on a budget like me!
