Ahh, it’s marathon week, people!
I cannot believe that in 5 little days, I’ll be running towards the finish line of my first marathon. I know it’s going to be super painful, but I’m hoping the crowds + adrenaline + thought that it will soon be over will be enough to power me through to the finish line. As much as I’m ready for this all to be over, I was feeling a little nostalgic this Saturday as I ran the Huckleberry Trail for one last training run. I’ve been able to put in a maximum of 12 miles on it most weekends, something I doubt I’ll ever do again. I must say I’m pretty lucky to have such an amazing trail that goes for such a long distance to complete the bulk of my training.
This week also marks the last week of my eating every meal like it’s my last. I just have not been able to stop eating everything in sight lately. Luckily, I know those calories are being put to good use, but I’m just hoping that my body adjusts back to normal pretty quickly, because I definitely don’t plan on keeping up this crazy exercise schedule!
I have been trying to stick with my smoothie for breakfast routine and this super easy combo has quickly become one of my favorites. I first discovered the chocolate chai combo when Starbucks sent me a 50% off coupon a few weeks ago and fell in love. It tastes completely indulgent, has a ton of caffeine, and still has the slightly exotic taste of chai. It’s definitely a keeper!
Chocolate Chai Smoothie
1/2 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
2 cups Tazo Chocolate Chai Latte mix
Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix well.
