When I finally found a real job after moving here last September, I decided to treat myself to a little Talbot’s shopping spree and this pencil skirt was one of the items I purchased that’s since found a continual rotation in my closet. I love the pencil skirt silhouette for work and this muted pink pattern is perfect for pairing with my other wardrobe favorites.
But lately, I’ve been trying to figure out how to transition more work appropriate items into my casual weekend wear to get out of a jeans + t-shirts rut or even, a workout shorts + old tee when I’m feeling especially lazy (i.e. every Sunday). Enter fall and the land of jean jackets and riding boots–perfect for casual pairing with a more formal work look.
This jean jacket is seriously one of my favorite purchases ever. When I lived in SLO, I used to walk into Gap every time I worked downtown until I worked up the courage to make the purchase. I think I ended up paying nearly $50, but since I’ve worn it at least once a week for the past 3 years, I’d say that’s been more than worth it. They only have the lighter version online right now, but hopefully they’ll restock the darker wash soon!
