Happy Monday, everyone!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Things were all fine and dandy here until I heard the shower dripping and when I went upstairs to turn it off further, it just turned back on again and now won’t turn off… The joys of apartment living! Hopefully we’ll be able to get someone out here this morning to fix it, but definitely not what I had in mind for a Sunday evening!
During our trip to Charlottesville at the beginning of July, I told you guys that we stopped in at a place called The Whiskey Jar, and Jeff fell in love with one of their signature whiskey drinks made with grapefruit juice and a hint of brown sugar for sweetness.
Time to recreate! We used Izze Grapefruit Soda instead of actual grapefruit juice since grapefruits aren’t in season at the moment (well, I guess they never are here!), some Woodford Reserve whiskey we received as a Christmas present last year (thanks padres!), and of course, a little brown sugar.
Whiskey drinks aren’t usually my thing, but if I had to drink it, this cocktail would be high on my list!
Jeff’s Sweet Grapefruit Whiskey Cocktail
Makes 1 cocktail
4 ounces whiskey
4 ounces Izze Grapefruit Soda
1 teaspoon brown sugar
Place whiskey, grapefruit soda, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake continuously until cold, about 1 minute.
Pour into a glass and stir in brown sugar until it dissolves.
Serve chilled and enjoy!
Time: 5 minutes
