I don’t really wear much black. With my pale skin, it’s just usually not my go-to neutral and instead, I try to incorporate more dark purples, navys, and browns into my looks so that I don’t look super washed out.
However, when I was working at the Gap Outlet (for a whole 2 months!) when we first moved to VA, I was completely drawn to this LBD. It fit like a glove, was just short enough without looking trashy, and had the perfect amount of pleating detail at the waist to give it a fuller, fancier skirt. Plus, it was cotton and super comfortable.
But like many dresses, I really only got use out of it for special occasions and since purchasing it, it has just been sitting in the back of my closet waiting for inspiration to strike. So how could I get more use of this more formal looking dress?
Solution? I decided to add a jean jacket for a more casual look, a fun statement necklace for the pop of color, and brown wedges for a little purposeful mismatching.
I must admit, I’m kinda obsessed with the end result! How do you get more use out of your LBD or formal dresses?
