This is pretty much a standard summer outfit for me. Cute, patterned shorts paired with a basic tee with interesting details and a fun statement necklace to add a little punch.
I got the wedges on sale at Macy’s last summer for $10 to wear to wedding, but so far, that was the only use I’ve gotten out of them. It’s a bit hard to tell in the photos but they are a metallic snakeskin–a little difficult to pair with casual outfits, but I’m trying!
And in reality, I would probably end up wearing this look with sandals during the day anyway. I’m a fast walker, and I hate being slowed down by wearing heels or wedges. Plus, since I’m trying to use my bike as my primary mode of travel this summer, they might just be a tad bit impractical.
One of my goals for my wardrobe is to pair more patterned/not neutral tops with my patterned shorts to make them more versatile and add a little more interest to the look. Too often, I just get stuck in making one pattern central in an outfit and then building in neutrals around it. But there has been so much print mixing inspiration (a la this outfit) that I really have no excuse!
