Happy Friday everyone!!
Jeff and I are heading up to D.C. for a quick weekend trip to meet up with his parents, but meanwhile, I thought I’d leave you with a quick note about last weekend’s exploits at Blacksburg’s Fork and Cork event!
For those of you just tuning in, Fork & Cork is essentially a wine tasting festival held at First & Main in Blacksburg, Virginia. They also showcased local artists, vendors, and even had fun cooking demonstrations!
Jeff and I decided to make more good use out of my new bike basket and biked all the way across town (like a whole 3 miles!), rain jackets in tow as the skies were looking a little ominous.
I was shocked by how long the line was to get in, but that was just a precursor of what was to come for the rest of the day! Luckily, we had pre-purchased our tickets because the event eventually ended up selling out.
Like I said, the lines were pretty darn long at every winery, but once we got up to the first booth, we quickly realized why: each winery was doing a full flight of tastings. So even though the wait was long, it was totally worth it once you got to the front.
Well I haven’t been too impressed with Virginia wine on the whole (man, do they like their sweet wine!), it was still a fun afternoon of celebrating local products–and the rain even held off!
You can find out more information about Fork & Cork on the event’s website here.
Have a wonderful weekend!
