Happy 2nd outfit post of the week!
This is a look that I put together for our night in Floyd to celebrate Jeff’s birthday last month (man, this month is flying!). Well, actually, it’s almost like T.J.Maxx put the look together for me, but I’ll still lay claim.
I often stop in T.J.Maxx after my weekly visit to Target, usually just to browse and see what stock has changed. I rarely end up purchasing anything because I’m often not in the mood to scour through the stuffed racks to find the one perfect garment then carry it all the way to the dressing room only to find out the it doesn’t fit. This laziness definitely helps my pocketbook though!
Last month, however, I was immediately drawn to a few pieces that I just couldn’t pass up trying on. First up was this Olive & Oak navy blazer with white piping details. I debated for such a long time with this purchase because I already own a perfectly good navy blazer from Talbot’s; however, that blazer is much more structured and work-like while this one was in a stretchy knit fabric that would lend itself well to more casual occasions. See how easy it is to convince myself?
Second, I found this Cynthia Rowley lace top for $15. I used to have a lace top from Loft that I wore all the time that has since worn out, so I was beyond excited to find this perfect replacement. I’ve had fun dressing it up and down already and also finding ways to style it for work.
And then lastly, I came across these tennies by Blowfish in my favorite section of the store: the shoes. I loved the casual oxford menswear look to them, and as an added bonus, they are super lightweight and comfy. And at $20, they were definitely another steal!
So, thank you T.J.Maxx for helping me put together the perfect casual date night outfit that could withstand lots of walking + standing as well as a night out on the town!
P.S. I’m also linking up with Tara over at Mix and Match Fashion today with another work look!
