Happy Friday friends!
Phew, I am absolutely exhausted! I guess I lost the stamina to work a full week after all these snow days. I’m sure you feel so sorry me, no? And I suppose I might be a wee bit exhausted after trying to do a full week back at the gym as well after being forced to take last week off because I was sick…that’s a good kind of exhaustion though!
How was your Valentine’s Day and evening? After all that talk about doing nothing, I think I still had a pretty successful afternoon + night. It started with a trip to the gym (my favorite way to celebrate anything!) and then came home to the husband surprising me with my favorite bottle of red wine, J.Lohr Cabernet Sauvigno,n and homemade chicken curry. And to top it all off, there was a box of See’s Chocolates handpicked with all of my favs from my parents. I spent the rest of the evening writing and watching ABC chick flicks while Jeff went to the gym and called it a perfect V-Day in my book!
Last weekend, I was craving donuts, something that only happens about once or twice a year luckily, but still hadn’t stumbled on the local donut store. So while I was out, I did a quick google search and discovered Carol Lee Donuts was just up the street from our house–score!
Donuts are pretty much just donuts in my world, but I have to say, these were some of the freshest, least chewy, and most melt in your mouth sugary goodness donuts that I’ve ever had. It’s a pretty modest little shop (cash only) with a basic selection but if that’s what it takes for such perfect flavor, I’m all in.
I have a bad (good?) feeling that we’ll be back many times in the near future!
