What a crazy weather week we’re having! It snowed last Friday, I had to run in below 20 degree weather all weekend, and then the past few days have been warm/sunny or warm/pouring. Make up your mind, will ya! And of course, my first day back at the gym coincided with the most gorgeous 75 degree day all winter. Go figure! But we’re back to normal winter today with the chance of some snow fall and cold temps, just the way things should be.
I’ve been wanting to share with you today’s outfit for such a long time because I’ve wanted to wear it for such a long time! When Jeff got me Zac Brown Band tickets for my birthday in December (best husband ever!), I immediately knew what I wanted to wear. Crazy planning mode, I know. But I really did have the perfect outfit in mind.
Concerts are always a bit tricky to chose clothing for, especially in the winter. It can be hot and stuffy inside but cold outside, so I needed something to accommodate both types of weather. Plus, I figured I’d be on my feet all night, so comfy shoes were a must.
So, nearly a month in advance, I had my perfect concert attire ready: my suede tan western booties, skinny Gap jeans, and new Orangy-Red blouse via Stitch Fix. Have you guys heard of Stitch Fix? It’s this fun new fashion service that lets you define your style and pieces you’re looking to add to your wardrobe and then for a $20 styling fee (that will be deducted from your total if you buy anything), you get a box full of personalized choices + styling tips. Fun, right? I’ve only tried it once and it was super fun, but the items were more on the designer side and thus, a bit pricier than I’m used to. Plus, once I paid the $20 fee, I felt obligated to purchase something, since I didn’t want to lose the money. Overall, I think it was a fun splurge, but definitely not for the budget conscious.
I should have started this post by saying this is what I would have worn to the Zac Brown Band concert if it hadn’t been 18 degrees and snowing. Suede boots + snow = a no go. 1 month of dreaming about my perfect concert outfit and it all went down the drain…darn you weather! My alternate outfit was similar to this, but I’ll be hunting for the next perfect occasion to actually wear this to!

Oh this weather…amazing how crazy it’s been over the course of the week. Is this a drastic change from CA?
Thanks!! It’s definitely a HUGE change, especially from coastal CA where it was between 65-75 almost everyday!
I need to move there!
It was definitely hard to leave!
Cute! Love that red on you.
