Happy Friday everyone!
I apologize yet again for being so absent this week. I just couldn’t quite catch after a whirlwind weekend in San Francisco for my cousin’s wedding
I drove up to Washington D.C. Thursday night after work to spend the night at my father in law’s house before flying out early the next morning. Oh, I had to take a quick detour to IKEA at 9pm on the way, because, well, why not?
After a five four flight, 1 3 hour time change, and 45 minutes on Bart, I made to my hotel 12 hours later–across the country no less!
Even though it was a crazy travel day, I could not have been more excited to be there. It might not have been SLO, but SF never felt so much like home! The ocean, fresh food, fresh mexican food…you’re pretty amazing too Virginia, but nothing beats Californian ocean air. And your mexican food is pretty pathetic too.
Of course, no one had planned for the wedding weekend also being one of the busiest weekends in SF ever with over 1 million people visiting the city for a Giant’s play-off game, Niner’s game, Fleet Week, and World Cup yachting just to name a few.
The wedding was saturday evening and the venue had an amazing view of the city out of the ceremony room.
So, after eating my way around San Francisco and an amazingly gorgeous wedding, I packed my bags back up and headed for the airport 5am Sunday morning. My flight was only about half full, so I spread out in my own row to grade papers and chow down on my local farmer’s market salad that I bought at the airport–an $11 local farmer’s market that is, but for one last California treat, it was worth it.
And then I arrived back in Virginia to be greeted by even more amazing fall color–it really couldn’t have been any better!
