Sacramento Dining | Wicked Wich

Happy Monday, everyone!

I spent a glorious weekend back in SLO for our good friends’ (absolutely gorgeous) wedding. I loved every second of being back, but man was it hard to leave this time! Last time we left, I think I was distracted by moving and cleaning and just getting on the road, so I didn’t have as much time to let it sink in. But, now, SLO is officially behind me (for now) and we’re looking to the future–we leave for Virginia on Thursday!

As soon as I woke up last week and came down the stairs, my dad told me to be ready by 11:15 because he was taking me out to lunch, but it was a surprise where we were going. I was a bit confused why he hadn’t told me this the night before, but I decided to go with the flow and be spontaneous for once in my life, so true to my word, I was ready to go when he got home at 11.

We got in the car and started driving to a random part of town and then suddenly, he turned into an office building complex–where the hell were we going?? And then I saw it–the Wicked Wich food truck–and suddenly, everything clicked. My dad follows the food truck on Twitter and and that morning, they had announced they’d be in the area that morning, so we had to go  that afternoon or we would have missed out! Thanks Dad!

I had the turkey sandwich with coleslaw, turkey, cheese, and fries (!) on the sandwich, and it was amazing.

Jeff had pretty much the same sandwich, just with pastrami instead of turkey.

Food trucks seem to be taking over cities these days, and Wicked Wich is definitely among the top in this area. Plus, it’s just plain fun to track them and see where they’ll be!
