Happy Friday everyone! Jeff and I are headed to SLO for one last time for our friends’ wedding–I can’t wait!
One of the best things about growing up so close to the capital city is being able to visit the state fair every year. Although the fair can get a tad bit repetitive and boring, I still love going to soak up the celebration of the state and all of the talented people who live in the area. And of course, there’s all that fair food… Blooming onions, anyone? How about some chocolate covered bacon??
I love seeing all of the baby animals, but my favorite are the goats–some day I’m going to retire and live on a goat farm!
This was the first year we’ve been to the fair and been able to participate in the wine and beer tasting. They had already judged the wine, so we tried the 3 free sample splashes of the gold or double gold winners.
We also found the craft beer stand–Jeff and I could have stayed there all night! I loved the Deschutes Hop Trip, one of my favorite breweries!
We spent the rest of the evening wandering around looking at the amazing local art, photography, and crafts, checking out the new cars, gardens, and of course, the all important insect pavilion!
Definitely a must see if you live in the area! You can check out more information on the State Fair website here.

You guys have had all sorts of fun adventures this summer! Would love to go to the CA state fair – always a great time. Eat a funnel cake for me and have a great wekened!
Thanks–we have to fit as much as possible in before the big move!
