Il Fornaio is a small (less than 25 locations) Italian chain restaurant with locations in nearby Roseville and Sacramento. My dad loves Italian food almost as much as I love Mexican food, so it’s always in the running for going out options when I’m at home. Recently, we discovered their happy hour menu–seriously one of the best happy hours I’ve ever seen.
All of their $10-&14 cocktails are marked down to $5 in addition to $3 bottled beers and $5 house wines.
If that weren’t enough, they also have a $5 generously sized antipasti and pizzas. The pizza Margherita is by far my favorite, surprising, I know, so we ordered one along with a pizza fradiavola with lots of meat for the boys.
We went to the Sacramento location inside the gorgeous Wells Fargo building complete with a mini-museum because we were heading to catch a minor league baseball game a bit later.
The happy hour definitely caters to the work crowd. Since you can only order happy hour prices in the bar area, the place was absolutely packed. We were lucky enough to grab two seats at the bar, so we could sit and the boys could stand.
It’s definitely a fun, tasty, and most importantly, inexpensive place to grab an early bite to eat! You can check out more about Il Fornaio on their website here.
