No, I’m not going to another beer fest this week–but I wish I was! We’re having a big graduation celebration this weekend with family, but if Jeff wasn’t graduating/if I wasn’t getting my credential, the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest is definitely where I’d be.
This is the first time Firestone has hosted a beer fest in Paso, and I’m sure it’s going to be a great time. According to their website,
The Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest was born from a dream of creating a world class festival featuring not only the best brewers in the world, but brewers whom we feel are leaders in the craft beer revolution. These are folks of like mind and spirit, some new friends some of many years, who share our same passion for making craft beer and sharing it with the world. This is a day where we can all put down our sales and marketing pitches and simply commune and share our beers and stories with people who are truly interested in craft beer. The ground rules are simple. Bring a session beer and a special beer accompanied by the artisan who created it. Brewers, their beers, good music and folks who care.
The festival will feature big breweries like Firestone (obviously!), Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, and Stone, but will also cater to a smaller craft brewery crowd as well, much more so than the CA Festival of Beers.
I think one of the most interesting parts of the event will be the “Behind the Beer Sessions” going on throughout the day. The master brewers from 9 different breweries will be discussing the brewing process of each of their unique breweries–it’s Jeff secret dream to be a brew master, so I’m sure he would have been glued to the discussions all day!
Unfortunately, tickets are officially sold out, but I’m sure there are people out there trying to get tickets off their hands if you look hard enough.
If you’re lucky enough to be going, I’d love to hear about it, and if not, you can still drool over the info on their website here!
