I know, I know, I’ve posted about Firestone before. In fact, this will be my third post about Firestone, but I had to share with you their new taproom restaurant in Paso Robles! You wouldn’t want to miss that, would you? I thought so. I was beyond excited when I heard they were opening a restaurant in Paso. We’ve been to their other taproom restaurant in Buellton but as its almost an hour away, its not really the most convenient trip.
Jeff and I were pretty much counting down the days to the opening and although we couldn’t make it the first week, we made it by the end of the second! We knew the restaurant would be busy but, call us naive or something, we seriously didn’t expect it to be this busy. We arrived at the brewery at about 6pm on a Friday night only to find out they were booked till 8:30! But not to be deterred, we made our way over to the bar and hovered behind a few people until we found ourselves seats about 45 minutes later.
We ended up ordering food right from the bar. The menu wasn’t all that exciting–pizza, steak, pork, etc. I was kind of hoping for a more food-forward, inventive menu, but what they did have, they seemed to do well. We ended up just splitting a pizza and fries–great combo, right?
The restaurant itself was absolutely gorgeous. They had a fun beer bottle line over the bar and a nice mix of stainless steel and wood furnishings. The service was a little slow, but that’s to be expected since they’d only been open for such a short period of time.
Hopefully they work out their seating issues soon, but I think we had even more fun sitting in the bar. Either way, we’ll be back soon!
