Jeff was in Ohio this past weekend visiting the University of Akron (more to come on that later!), so I decided to head home for a quick visit. It’s suddenly becoming a bit too real that I won’t be living in California for much longer! But let’s stick to the positives today, shall we?
I met my parents for happy hour at a restaurant called Source Tapas my first night home. The restaurant focuses on all of the things I love in a restaurant (and my own kitchen): fresh, local, sustainable, high quality ingredients. As such, their menu does change from time to time and many of the items we enjoyed are not listed on their website.
I absolutely love tapas. I tend to get bored with a meal pretty quickly, and this way, I can sample a bit of everything without getting tired of it! We have a great tapas restaurant in SLO–Luna Red–but unfortunately, it’s a bit out of our price range to go to too often. The happy hour prices at Source were a steal: $3 sangria and beer and $2 mini tapas. The sangria looked great, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to try new beer!
Between the three of us, I think we ordered most of the happy hour menu.
We had the:
Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
Mediterranean Spiced Olives
Baguette & Spread
The BEST toffee ever!
And some paella balls. Pretty good for $10, right?
After our “appetizers,” we also ordered a few of their regular size tapas:
They also had large plates for those looking for something more meal-sized.
Although we live pretty far away, hopefully we’ll be back soon! You can check out more about Source Tapas on their website here.
