Anyone else obsessed with frozen yogurt? I know I am!
When Jeff and I were in high school, we used to go to our local shop almost everyday. Our favorite topping? Rainbow sprinkles of course!
The place to get frozen yogurt in SLO is a small hole-in-the-wall yogurt shop on downtown Higuera street called Bali’s. When I lived on the other side of town, I used to walk down and get it at least twice a week, but now it’s become more of a once and awhile treat for me.
Since I was rocking farmer’s at the Sock Drawer again last night, I figured it was time to pick some up and get some sugar in my system, so I could stay nice and energized for the entire shift! The best part about frozen yogurt shops, or fro yo as I’m more apt to call it, is that it’s always a mystery what flavors will be in the store that night. Last night, I decided to go with cookies and cream with some mint cookie shavings and 3 chip blend. Yum!
My absolute favorite combination is raspberry fro yo with almond slivers and a few fresh blueberries. Or chocolate mint with yogurt chips. Depends on the season and my mood I guess!
Lately, I’ve kinda been at odds with the fro yo versus real ice cream debate. Fro yo may be more low fat, but it also can be quite artificial while good quality ice cream has more fat but also more “real” ingredients. To me, both of them in moderation seems like a good solution–I happen to have a pint of ice cream in my fridge as well!
Where do you stand on the fro yo v. ice cream debate?
